Are you unhappy with your core strength? If so, you are not alone. Many people feel that they are not meeting their aesthetic or strength-based goals, leading to physical weakness and even insecurity.

The good news? Personal training can help you build a stronger core. These are some of the exercises a personal trainer may incorporate into your routine.

Dead Bug

If you are just beginning your fitness journey, a personal trainer may recommend the dead bug exercise. The dead bug helps you build the core muscles that keep your body stable when you perform other exercises. This will help you sit up straighter, breathe deeply, and improve your balance and stability.

This exercise involves lying on your back with your arms straight up and your feet at tabletop. You will straight and lower one leg, hovering above the floor, at the same time you bring the opposite arm down straight, above your head.

Ankle Tap Crunch

Your obliques are also important. These are the muscles on the sides of your abdominals. Personal trainers will help you work your obliques so that you are stable and have balance in your movements.

In order to perform the ankle tap crunch, you need to lie on your back. Keep your knees bent, feet on the floor. Your arms should be parallel to your body. Lift your shoulders off the floor with your abs, reaching your left hand to your left ankle, squeezing the side of your abs as you do. Switch sides.

Boat Pose

Boat pose is not only a great yoga move, but it's also a great way to develop a strong core and strengthen your legs. It boosts your endurance and balance as well.

In order to perform boat pose, sit on your bottom with bent knees. Feel yourself sitting on your tailbone, and then extend your arms straight out in front of you. Lean back, allowing your feet to lift. Your body should look like the letter 'V' with your arms straight out. You can keep your legs bent in tabletop if it is more accessible.
